I haven't been neeting for that long but my parents are pestering me everyday about when I'll get a job (I actually have been trying but the UK job market is disfunctional).

How do I stop my parents from bothering me? Im not even that useless in the house, since I do a bunch of chores and shit.

Tell them that it is impossible to find a job in the current labor market, employers want to save on employees and that the salary they give may not be what they promise

I don't know, they just kind of accept it every time I do something bad like fail college, quit a job etc. My dad usually gets very mad, stops talking to me for weeks/months and after a while everything just kind of goes back to normal, rinse and repeat. It's very sad and I hate it, but I can't help myself. It's pathetic, but I'm genuinely mentally ill and if they ever kick me out I'll probably die.

I lived with my mom after college when i was 22-23 but she kept kicking my butt and screaming at me to find a "J-O-B" that I eventually had to get one. I'm glad I did though.

changing the household pace doing chores to confuse expectations other than holding down a job but it’s really my own abhorrent presence pestering myself to get employed. try to mirror every little thing except not in an obvious way, take care to keep note the doubling patterns in erratic moods before it falls apart. the more “natural” the more forgiving they might be although that isn’t abuse saving to mood sensitive buildups

My mother was the opposite. She divorced my father and needed me to be on benefits for her to get higher alimony payments from my rich dad.

Every time I got a job my mother would get me fired by turning up and misbehaving because she needed me unemployed. Every time the alimony checque came she’d rub her hands like a fly over shit happy that she had succeeded.
