Brutal Nature is cruel. Half of all humans ever born did not survive past age 15.

Now you see why religion exists as a remedy to comfort man’s tragic existence.

How can one still believe in an omnipotent god after taking this into account?

Boy, you're onto something there. You're still not seeing the whole picture.

Since approximately half of all the children and adolescents died before reaching maturity, the ones that survived had the healthiest immune systems, the most functional brains, the highest intelligence, and the best environmental conditions. They were the fittest both in mind and body, a natural selection's way of weeding out the weak.

Now we have vaccines, modern medicine, technology, and abundant food and water, which prevent a large percentage of genetic defects from dying. Result? A lot of people out there are what we could call "mutants", the spawn of undesirable genes that manifest themselves in horrendous ways.

Not every person out there should be alive, and it shows.

I fully agree with you, I specifically hate people that symphatize over people with down syndrome or other illnesses as if they are of any use to this society, they waste up space, water, food, seats, they are useless and it would be more "ethical" to just euthanize them at birth, so that they may never experience bullying or other sorts of pain caused purely by theyr existence. Its cruel to keep such people alive just because you think everybody deserves life, but nature will take its course some day, people with severe mental retardation or severe body issues will die out, hopefully, for theyr own sake.

Nature is a whore

Yet people like Nature even though it's quite openly hostile.
