First time I saw it was maybe 6 months after it was out. I just couldn't like it as a kid. Same for One Piece around that time.

Only anime I watched as a kid was Naruto, Dinosaur King and Dragon Ball
I also watched these weird unknown anime movies dubbed in Spanish, I think they were anime due to the art style
Rock Lee was a more likeable character then a Naruto. I cried waterfalls watching his story and how hard he tried. When he fought Gara and lost I actually gave a shit. And when he got back up and tried to fight even while unconscious, I knew he was one of my favorites characters in anime.
Dragon Ball, Pokemon, Digimon, Zoids, Big O, multiple Gundams, Outlaw Star, Cowboy Bebop, Fooly Cooly, Yu Yu Hakusho, Bleach, Fist of the North Star, and I'm probably forgetting some more.

I re-watched some episodes periodically during lockdown and part 1 is top notch. Part 2 is where my complaints flow in, especially during the 4th Shinobi War arc. I think if the show were to premier again this year, it would wow viewers. I wish I could go back to being a teen and seeing the Chunin Arc for the first time though
The series went from being about hard work and shit to "just choose your parents bro" Kishimoto probably got tired after a decade or so with no time to plan.
