My minimum wage job fired me

I was working at this grocery store full time. Every one who made 10 cents more than me would power trip over the smallest shit. Especially 2 mildly obese women who worked there

For example: I left my coffee cup in the back where everyone left theirs, the cool Filipino kids got no shit for it. Only for me to be surprised by a fat bitch yelling in my ear “this spot is for produce not grocery. Then I yelled back “does it matter” and refused to move my cup. I was constantly yelled at for tiny incidences.

Within a month of working at the store Ieventually had it. When people yelled at me, my go to reply was “I really don’t care. I make $12.65/hr anyway”

Eventually the manager called me in and asked me if I wanted to work there. In his words he said “you constantly talk back to everybody. It seems you don’t want to work here. You are basically saying fuck ****** foods.” I pretended to care and dismissed which allowed me to work an astonishing 3 more weeks at ****** foods.

I eventually give my 2 weeks notice because I get hired on as a dishwasher for a restaurant. They give me better hours, 3 bucks above minimum wage and tips on top of that. On top of that I get free meals. This is great treatment for a low paying job.

Other perks of being a dishwasher include:
-no super early morning shifts. I’m never coasting on 3hr sleep nights
-flexible hours. You can choose to work 3-6 days a week. Essentially you can make a living off kitchen work if you put your time in
-never pay for food. If the cooks make a mistake. They feed the line cooks/dishwashers
-free soda
-sometimes you ge to go home early if the restaurant is slow


After giving notice, f***** foods left my schedule blank so now I’m no longer working there

Yeah minimum wage dish jobs are shit. The slightly higher paying ones respect their dish dogs more. I briefly worked dish at a restaurant before the one I’m at now. It was similar to what you explained minus the mean chefs, angry servers, restaurant hating me.

Your mistake was probably accepting a minimum wage dish job. Higher paying ones usually have better standards.

Next time, maybe don't mention the low wage as a reason you're unmotivated. It's one thing to call out injustices, it's another to be perceived as lazy. But I can completely relate to what you're saying. I worked in a restaurant as a host, and I was called out for not wanting to be promoted to become a waiter. I learned that "low end" jobs are no different than white collar jobs, where everything's a competition. Being a dishwasher is much better than working in the front of the restaurant. You don't have to interact with people as much. You go where you're needed, and quietly do your work. You also get to spend more time in the back of the restaurant, where it's much more relaxed.

That’s nothing in Canada. Where I live we have the highest rent prices everywhere. Tons of rich Asians who did well in school. Many wage cucks work 7 days a week to afford 1 bedroom. Some even work 3 jobs. Not to mention getting raped by taxes
