Those factors definitely have an effect, of the countries whose nationals are more likely to marry our men than women China is in the lower half with just two such marriages for every one between a Chinese man and one of our women from 2019 to 2023 (the time period I've looked at). Of the East Asian countries, only South Korea has a lower one at 1.5:1, which is the same as Estonia for example.

For further comparison, two of our neighbouring countries, Czechia and Hungary, both of whom are, more or less, culturally and economically similar to us, have somewhat higher ratios than China but in the opposite direction with them marrying our women more than we marry theirs, which just further puts those numbers into perspective.

I wouldn't be surprised
. In the same period (2019-2023), there were 7.7 marriages between Indian men and Slovak women for every marriage between a Slovak man and an Indian woman, placing India somewhat above average for countries whose men marry our women more often than vice versa. A bigger ratio than for other EE countries or the US which had a bit over 4, but less than for Western European and MENA countries, which often have a double digit ratio.
