My favorite types of main characters are the ones which carry huge swords and use it to try and defy / shatter fate. Guts and Ichigo are two examples of this. They both are go the against seeming unchangeable force of nature and try to change it by sheer willpower. That type of courage makes me respect them very much.
For example,
True Bankai embodies his complete self, a blade born from acceptance rather than destiny. It carries a nature that disrupts rigid futures instead of following them. When faced with an opponent who can alter the future, (Yhwach's Almighty), his Bankai becomes something fate cannot perfectly predict or contain.
Guts is marked as a sacrifice meant to die. The Eclipse is designed to erase him completely. He survives and keeps fighting. Thus he rejects his own destiny.
