@WØLF learn the socratic method and be aubreys socrates
I have probably the most unpopular opinion on GTO, despite having never watched it: I think Assassination Classroom emerges as a significantly more effective show at doing essentially the same thing, but actually competently, especially from a comedic and thematic standpoint.

I vaguely remember the first episode and deciding that the series wasn't worth watching. It's all a delusion, right? The famous actress dressed as a lewd bunny girl in public spaces and allegedly only the protagonist can recognize her.

I'll concede that this romance is a total illusion that could never happen in the real world in 2024 because of the mountainous and utterly unreasonable dating standards females have. But that doesn't mean it's just a meaningless wish fulfilment fantasy. In a rom-com scene that's becoming more and more crowded with the same old boring, cliche, predictable couples, BokuYaba is striving to stand out and offer something special—a source of hope and connection for the many incel-adjacent young men who are desperately searching for relatability and encouragement.

The main character, Kyotaro Ichikawa, is a dark, tortured soul who is barely able to suppress his murderous impulses. His edgelord demeanor and physical appearance suggest that he would likely struggle with forming meaningful relationships irl. It's quite evident that he would effortlessly fit into the incel category in real life. I mean, he perfectly and categorically embodies the characteristics of one, and hs incel rage was his defining quality before meeting Yamada. Little does he realize that it originates from his 152cm (~5ft) stature.

While there’s less to say about Anna Yamada, the main heroine as I've described in the prior post, she stands as a striking contrast to him in just about every way—not limited to just their height difference. However, don't let a superficial observation deceive you. These two awkward, loveable dorks share more similarities than meets the eye. Both love interests exhibit distinct signs of non-NTness and insecurity, often engaging in self-deprecation and unhealthy comparisons with others. They share a common fear of being disliked by the ones they hold dear. Despite these challenges, they both actively work towards self-improvement, drawing inspiration and motivation from one another in ways that could even thaw my cold, icy heart.

The lack of soul and spirit in much of today's vocaloid music has always been a disappointing observation of mine. The genre, once a truly novel and unprecedented phenomenon, owes its success to the ricecel predecessors who poured their weary hearts into it. Alas, the widespread availability of music making tools has flooded the market with an influx of unoriginal music. Yet, amidst this sea of mediocrity, these tracks emerge as a revitalizing breeze, with Lagtrain nigh rekindling the essence that once defined this genre as a cultural sensation.

Fun Fact: Kaai Yuki was voiced by an actual fourth-grader! And the producers had issues with updating Yuki's voicebank because her voice provider's voice changed in puberty lol. Now, that's what I call a fresh and innovative approach to a genre.

@Zettabhai @shii410 @kikecel @RREEEEEEEEE this is literally @Diocel after getting cucked by the girl he ascended with.

R&B died when niggas stopped singing in the rain and grabbing the air. I know Kanye wants to rope every time he hears this song.

This song is actually physically nauseating tbh.
  • I hate how "uwu cutesy i'm baby :foidSoy:" it sounds despite how explicitly and unashamedly the lyrics reek of sex.
  • I hate how blatantly it rips-off Jpop—a genre that makes a point to keep it's virtue, purity, and spirit—despite being sang by a brazen whore, only to instead sound like a theme song for a show on Disney channel.
  • I hate her nonchalant use of profanity, as if it makes her cool and edgy, when in reality it merely highlights the Western female's moral decline and soils any notion of femininity they still had.
  • I hate it's utterly cringeworthy employment of Japanese phonology, as if it wasn't already glaringly obvious this song was a vapid imitation of Jpop and the global success of kawaii culture, except only if it were flushed down the toilet that is Western influence.
  • I hate how perfectly it represents the deceptive nature of the zoomer female: innocent and sweet on the outside, but perverted and tainted on the inside.
But most of all, I hate myself for liking it.

God composer Hiroyuki Sawano continues to amaze with his eminently awe-inspiring orchestration, and this time is no different. Owari no Seraph is ultimately an excuse for an otherwise innocuous shonenslop manga adaptation with way more staff, time, and money behind it than any of its contemporaries thanks to WIT Studio, brought forth with Insane sakuga action and an endless supply of jaw-dropping background art.

But setting aside the production values, as well as the wonderfully smug Shinoa, this show was undeserving of the theme songs, insert songs, and OST Sawano blessed it with. Takuma Ebisu's big action animation cut from season 2, episode 9 is legendary and unforgettable thanks to Scapegoat. When this electrifying, cathartically emotional anthem kicks in during the scene where Mika cuts through the soldiers to reach Yuu, even I had to resist the urge to jump up and cheer.

This AMV is awesome. Paprika is the better Inception. After all, it served as the basis and inspiration for the film because Satoshi Kon was indisputably an innovator of cinema.

This music is like an expensive wine; you only want to sip it every once in a while.

Lorn activates my flight or fight response and gives me the most intense anxiety.... but I can’t stop listening. These songs are like a black rose. Only those who have crossed the darkness can see the full beauty of this rose, and still, you prick yourself with the thorns, but the pain doesn't hurt as much. Interesting that the production is very violent and sinister yet the composition doesn't invoke hate nor aggression, but rather serenity? It’s like falling from a building to death, but slowly and gently, encapsulating the oddly liberating catharsis of accepting the fact that mortality is inevitable for us all anyway.

Sega Sunset has the bleakness and echoing diminuendo of a western cry in the desert, but the electronic static and 80's film rhythm of the synths backed by those smooth, high and discrete longer whistles from another emotive synth/electro instrument, promote a romantic, awe-striking digital futurism. Blade Runner fantastically encapsulates these attributes, and for ex. would complement that scene in the new Blade Runner 2049, when @Gosling finds the date carved in the tree on the deserted planet. Why didn’t (((they))) get this artist to do the motion picture soundtrack for Blade Runner? The world will never know.

One of the better cuts from Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight—an album that mostly sounded like microwaved leftovers from his game-changing breakthrough record from the previous year, Rodeo—sdp interlude features fascinating sounds and creates an almost psychedelic headspace for the listener, something Scott excels at. The track samples Washed Out’s “You and I,” and an interpolation of Madonna’s “Lucky Star,” the former of which is linked above for your listening pleasure.

Why Travis didn't put this on Birds is one of the greatest mysteries mankind has yet to solve. Something about this song just cleanses your soul of all earthly illusions. Crazy how this is getting recognition so many years after it first came out. I’m just glad it’s finally getting the attention it deserves, because this is arguably one of Travis's best tracks, only if it's the extended version though. Legit, this sounds like something that would fit perfectly in Radio Mirror Park in GTA V.

Felt cute might transcend into space later idk tho

This sounds like if Sonic Youth made a song using Current Joys instrumentals.

Fun fact: Eyedress was the first Filipinocel musician from Manila to be signed to a major indie label in the United Kingdom.

There's a little black spot on the sun today
It's the same old thing as yesterday
There's a black hat caught in a high tree top
There's a flag pole rag and the wind won't stop

I have stood here before inside the pouring rain
With the world turning circles running 'round my brain
I guess I'm always hoping that you'll end this reign
But it's my destiny to be the king of pain...
