I don't know why moral faggots online feel the need to defend piracy. I'm sorry, but video game piracy is not a good thing for gaming. The psp was abandoned by third parties because the piracy was so bad that software wasn't profitable. This led to the ps vita overcorrecting and flopping due to its anti piracy measures.
Trying to claim that companies like Nintendo are greedy and evil for suing switch emulators ,(where the devs profited from selling early versions that could play games like BOTW) is ridiculous. The same moral faggots would cry if you pirated an indie game. I'm sorry, but if I like a game I'm going to financially support it. Unless the company behind it is absolutely evil like sega, or it's a botched port, I'm not gonna be cheap and virtue signal about fighting the evil corporations.

If you're going to pirate then pirate. Don't act like you're a brave soldier fighting against the evil game corporations for doing so.

Most modern games are slop, not even worth pirating a lot of the time, let alone buying.

the reddit kind of defending piracy is giga cringe I agree, but It would be lifefuel if piracy crashed the entire industry today.

muh piracy sells games actually! Muh what about old games! etc etc. I'm all for piracy but can't think of one morally justified excuse to pirate games

Piracy for shitty games and business models, paying for good content.

What percentage of people pirate games?

Im just too poor. And like other said, most games aren't worth it.

Dichotomy blinds them. Big business = rich = evil / indie games = poor = good.

actually there's a moral justification for piracy. Ancaps( Anarcho-capitalist ) argue that piracy doesn't infringe on the creator's property rights because the original files isn't lost. however if this argument is followed, the same argument should apply to indie games. i doubt redditors will agree.

tbh i don't know if piracy is even possible these days. a lot of game companies use Denuvo.

piracy is an good thing since i can pirate as much math as i want.. i agree on video game piracy though.

Why would I pay for something I can pirate?
Piracy is based.
And yes I'll pirate indie games if I feel lile it.

Without piracy you would be forced to eat slop remasters while old games getting removed or your old consoles dying and you had no other choice. Emulation is always great you can enhance old games and make them run and look better than OG (Mario Galaxy bundle). They are not piracy and they are legal across multiple countries all over the world only in USA and JP they don't use logic there.

Good games will sell and bad games will not, so your argument is pure bs spoken like tendy big corpo cocksucker that can't stop defending multi billion corporation.

Vita flopped because nobody cared about it not because imaginary piracy. Why would you need Vita when old PSP still received new games? Sony gave up because there was not a big enough player base.

Konami, Bandai, Sega and Nintendo games will be always pirated me. As they are extremely greedy and predatory with their dlcs and tendy is even worse due lawsuits and abusing the law.

Nice try goldstein Im still pirating

There are many games I could not otherwise play because they are not sold anymore or are in formats for systems that only exist as collector's items, and I do not feel like being scalped online trying to buy original copies of a game cartridge that may or may not work.

Plus, many games cannot simply be played anymore on modern versions of the OS' of many PCs, such as the first two Red Alert and Tiberium games until recently, or Freelancer because of the Safedisk aspect of Windows 10, and Microsoft refuses to make the game available digitally. The only way you could play these games on Windows 10 and above was by downloading the ISO and the patching it.

Finally, the video game industry does not seem to give a fuck about game preservation, especially Nintendo, so the only way to preserve these older games is to pirate them.

Support the devs is even more cucked especially since they get no money from old games and all that money goes to company and they get peanut just empty virtual

how will my billion dollar mega corporation recover?

I bought games regularly in the past, believing that my money will be used to continue making games that i like, and now they are making games i despise, i regret paying for them. The games that are being made today aren't worth shit, they should pay you to play them and even that is not enough.

I just love stealing

Modern games suck so much I'd not even try them for free

100%

Was about to say this, because I unironically believe this.

Some terminally online troons crack them. A lot of the good shit uses GOG anyway. Or simply Steam, and sometimes they even disable the DRM.

Better to have 20 fans that pirated your game than no one because no one gives a fuck about your soulless game that doesnt explore any serious/interesting topic

I would've pirated cs2's prime system if I could

BTW paying for games that were made by more than 5 people is basically supporting jews

I just don't like paying money for digital content, simple as, I don't try to moralfag about it I just like pirating for this reason. Paying for something you don't actually own seems cucked to me. I don't mind paying for physical media although I haven't been doing it recently.
