Terraforming a planet is no joke. I highly doubt it will ever happen. Not for a thousand or so years at least. By then, humanity will have nuked itself to oblivion.
Why tf would an ordinary citizen wanna go to Mars? Even if we render it habitable, there is simply no incentive for people to abandon their comfy life here on earth and move over to some red planet and start a whole new civilization from scratch.
