In Greek mythology, Sirens were dangerous and seductive creatures depicted as half-bird, half-woman. They lived on rocky islands and lured sailors to their doom with enchanting, beautiful songs. Their legend centers on the irresistible temptation of forbidden knowledge and how two great Greek heroes survived their deadly call

I first heard about this in Year 6 . I must have been 12. But now for the first time, I discover I'd misunderstood it. I thought all the men were being tied up so they couldn't have sex with them. Turns out the Sirens just wanted to share knowledge. With one of them.
