The very second M rated game I every played. Call of Duty 4. It was fall of 2009. I was amazed of the game. I was 10 years old. And little 10 year old me though guns milatary and most of all night vision was super cool. And the origonal modern warfer trilogy made me 50/50 on wanting either being a cop or a 11B infantry man. And my mom didnt give a ahit because half of the time she was either arguing with her mexican boyfreind or taking it prisoner style as I played COD or watch paranormal state.
My oh my look at me now that Im 25.Wanting to either be a electrition or housing inspector. Now spending more money on trade tools then shit for my 3 guns. And being thankfull I didnt join the milatary. But before COD became the lifted tractor tire truck of the video game industry, there was a game 10 year old me didnt give a fuck about. Metal gear.
Metal Gear was a game about a soldeir who knows he was getting the death bot treatment. In metal gear solid, Snake isnt even in on the operation. He just wants to do the ididerote. He is forced to do a mission wile injected with virus behind his back. Infact its because some american politician sees Snake as a fucking slave.
But who is Solid Snake really? I know. Snake or David is the byproduct of the goverment relising they couldnt manipulate his sarogate father, Big Boss. Big Boss was used and fucked over by the US goverment twice. First in MGS3 and Portable Ops. When BigBoss decided to cut off the rancid limbs of his supperiors, what did they do? Clone him without his consent.
In MGS4 its were your thrown with almost all the ugly truths Kojima has for us. Snake before being born was engineered to have no baby making ability and shortend Tilameres. Tilameres are what prevents aging. There a layer on the chromosome that is gone until typically age 21. Davids, was shortend to were he was dying at age 40. He was treated as property since day 1. All his life all he knew was war. Most of his life he was taught to fight for the goverment. No real life. "Born to be wasted"
And then you see in the story of many wanting to be Snake. They learn some of his CQC moves, theres the S3 Program sitch simulates his experience. And this was all done by the US goverment.
And lets talk consequences of war. Raiden, was a man who was doing war since his childhood. And is still traumatized from the shit he dealt with. Child hood soldeirs are a real thing in real life at Africa. I remember when I was in high school I read about one of those child solders. The book was called "A long way gone". Kids are cursed to see the more horrid shit possible. Forced to kill, die for fucking politcal bitches who have just as much estrogen in there bodies as they do ego.
But the child solders, they technicly are in america too. Call of duty even today is still full of kids. A game meant for adults. A game about war or "preventing terrorism". "Russia bad". "Terrorist bad". Call of duty is making war look fun. Hell you know how in MW2 the ACR is the best gun in multiplayer? Turns out activision was getting real cozy with Remington. Who makes the the ACR in real life. And the MSR seen in MW3.
Tell me, do you not think the US milatary saw CODs legacy as a opetunity to recruit future kids into the Army or Marines? The US milatary in real life even tryed making war games. One point they modded I think doom to imatate the US milatry shooter game. I remember once playing a US army recruitment FPS shooter game. It was like a super budget version of insurgency sandstorm. Seeing this kinda remined me of the child soldiers you encounter in MGS5. Kids forced to fight for bullshit wars. But in america, the kids arent being forced into being soldiers. There tricked into signing up for war. Maybe COD wants to remove that picture witch could explain the fag shit you see in modern day cod multiplayer.
The saddest part. At the end of MGS4, snake finally retires. After doing nothing but fighting for others, (small exception in mgs2). I was hit with the relization that David, got to spend very little of his life actually living. It was all nothing but survival and war for him. No past. No present. No future. And I fear many people could face that if the wrong type of calm of duty baits people into fighitng for this shit.
Im not saying dont play tacticle games. Hell I still play cod and even Ghost Recon. But I fear that there baiting children into signing up for bullshit war. And that theres probably a good reason why these games were rated M in the first place.
