Yes, in absolute terms, though what I mentioned in the OP was more so the relative differences. All the other regions seem to have a slight female advantage in life satisfaction, but MENA countries have a decently big one, and Anglosphere countries seem to be the only ones with a tiny male advantage.

There are 34 million migrants in the whole Gulf, or around 6% of the MENA population. That seems large enough to affect the data if their conditions are bad enough, and both mainstream sources and personal anecdotes I have heard tend to point in that direction.

Also, financial pressure on men to provide for the family is my other guesse.
