San Diego isn't as bad as the two other big cities Los Angeles and San Francisco. I went there last year for two weeks and I found it to be very pleasant. Traffic isn't as bad as nearby LA and there's less homeless. It's cleaner too - less graffiti and trash everywhere.

Still costs 1 billion dollars to live there and you still deal with California laws.
