looking for any recommendation

i find myself not watching/reading anything new but rather rewatching random slop slice of life or reading manga/light novel of anime ive already watched im already considering some but im having heavy doubts.

ive been looking for a good light novel to read but everyone just recommends re;zero ive already seen the anime and i didnt like it at all, im not willing to spend like 30 dollars on that little book hoping it might be a bit better than the anime (im not bored or broke enough to read it online).

on the visual novel part i was considering umineko but i hate the fandom so much it makes me unable to read it, i wouldnt say im too homophobic but this fandom is particularly filled with foids who only talk about how every character is supposedly gay or trans or how everything is related to feminism and i hate it.

still everyone seems to agree both of these are incredibly well written or whatever, should i just give them a chance??

if anyone wants to recommend anything for reference my favorite anime is monogatari and my favorite vn is probably higurashi

I mean i would love to know more about what you like. Higurashi and monogatari are both well regarded and well written books.

Re zero ln i did not try, but if you didn't enjoy the anime i would just not bother tbh. Now, if you liked higurashi vn i would recommend umineko, fandoms can sometimes encourage you to read things or just make you don't want to read them. I've read umineko and it's one of the best pieces of fiction ever. Bear in mind tho, it's super awfully long. And if you want to make it worth it, you have to be super slow and try to clear the puzzles yourself.

If you like horror and murder misteries. I would also recommend Kara no shojo and Raging loop. Two of my other Horror favorite series.

If you are particulary looking for LN. I would recommend Apothecary diaries and Mushoku tensei. Apothecary is about political intrigue and really interesting, mushoku it's an isekai with really nice worldbuilding.

I kinda get it, Reverend insanity for example. A super popular chinese power fantasy novel, i recall quite enjoying it and being one of my favorite books. Now i just hate the fandom, they glaze the protagonist 24/7. Same with Frieren, it's top 1 on MAL and i'm like.... It's a good show alright, not TOP #1 anime of all time show.....

And if you spend time on reddit/twitter it's inevitable you'll encounter super fans.

Np, you could give MK a go and see if you like it. It's quite long so if you don't really get into it you can just drop it.

KnS is fuckign amazing and has 3 games, the 3rd game concludes the saga in a really neat ending and just came out this year in EN. So yeah have your fill.

I dunno. Personally I think the first season wrapped everything up well & that's why the 2nd season wasn't good. It just wasn't necessary lol. But I also tend to like shorter series personally anyways
