My sole exposure to this series is through the ongoing anime airing this season, and it's awful. If it weren't for the unwarranted hype surrounding it generated by mindless gooners, it would be recognized for the slop it is, completely indistinguishable from any generic and cheaply made bargain bin waifubait thing you could compare it to.

I play it, it gets repetitive fast but I'm still in it for the fotm waifus. haven't spent money on it thankfully. honestly you're better off looking up the interactions with the girls from youtube videos to get a feel for their personality if you're curious. like most gacha this game has an auto mode where the game plays itself

That's what I imagine most players do, but the primary motivation for most gachacels is the dopamine rush they experience from a lucky roll™ and the gratification of obtaining their favorite waifus.
I see a lot of people being nice to this show, and I really don't see why. In Japan, Blue Archive has become an insatiable money-making behemoth whose appetite only grows with the eating, and one of the most popular new IPs, constantly placing in the top 10 in terms of revenue. But here in the West, it’s still not nearly as known as something like Genshin Impact or even Raid: Shadow Legends (kek.)
Look, I’m fine with media selling itself, I’m not a child, but when it comes to gacha, the girls themselves are the products, and while an anime’s storyline can help dilute this reality, I can’t not see it, so everything just feels fake. However, in the sorry case of Blue Archive, it's stupid, criminally boring, and obviously just made as fanservice for the game, which is a game I haven't played and won't play.
Video game adaptations themselves are the epitome of mediocrity, and Blue Archive can't even be called that. It's another adaptation without the slightest hint of a pulse, but even worse is that it's as autistic and off the media deep-end as any gacha game has ever been. I continue to stand confused as to why everyone treats it like anything more than retarded, insipid, banal gachashit.

If it makes you feel any better, my favorite is Kuromi Serika, if only because of the fact that she's literally just a blatant one-to-one ripoff of Azusa Nakano. My second best girl would have to be Takanashi Hoshino because she's cute and funny xd.
Just a friendly reminder, I always make sure to note the best girls in the tags section of my MyAnimeList, right alongside my thoughts on every anime I watch, regardless of the show's quality. However, it remains undeniable that they're nothing more than zero-dimensional, cookie-cutter characters created solely for the purpose of being marketed as a product.

Based af. Akio Watanabe’s character designs are fantastic. The man is a legend just for his contributions to the Monogatari series alone.
I also like Yoshiyuki Sadamoto, Yoshitoshi Abe, Yoh Yoshinari, Masayoshi Tanaka, Atsushi Nishigori, Kanami Sekiguchi, Kenichi Yoshida, Yukiko Horiguchi, Yasuomi Umetsu, just to name a few.

Range Murata, I would say his drawings have alot of depth. His drawings are also original incorporating a lot of art deco styling to items.
I guess a pet pev of mine is artist drawing too alike one another the glossy, bright color, simplified. It looks good but gets old quick.
I would also add alphonse, but he does not produce much artwork lately, he made good fantasy victorian artwork 15 years ago.

There are many LO cover artists, i think it’s an honor. Some of the most beautiful art I have seen is on the LO covers.
Alphonse older art below, I think it was better than his newer art, but his Seabreeze art book has some good art too but through the looking glass was peak.
