If the language you wanted to learn was not in the poll, please write which languages you wanted to learn and or already speak and your experience using those languages.

The first language I wanted to learn was French, I fell out with it and eventually would learn Esperanto, though I did not reach intermediate, I can sound of the words in a sentence. Lately, Russian has been on my list, though I do not know if I will ever truly master it or get its phonetics down.

learning old Hebrew rn and translating the Old Testament it’s pretty cool but also wanted to do French

Never saw the appeal in learning any language for reasons outside of necessity. Sounds difficult and boring. What can you realistically do with that ability for enjoyment outside of being able to translate pieces of media? The advantages seem disproportionately small to the amount of effort and time required to learn a language.

I remember, that the Bible we have aka King James Version is from the Common Greek, but from your time translating the text, what have you learned so far from your translations?

You might very well think that, however consider it for your own sake should you choose. If you tried say the language Esperanto you wouldn't find an intense difficulty if you wanted something to wet your apetite.

Everything feels pointless, since I would never use another language

all of them so i could talk with brocels in their language

i remember @WastedPotential once told me he wanted to learn finnish

Some people find it fun, can you believe it? Mostly foids. In my country you can pick the type of high school and there's one focused on languages that teaches at least two foreign languages other than english, and it's full of foids. They have their preferences too like "oh french is boring but german is so cool and rational!" Yes, I heard one say this, and she wanted to work in germany to speak the language, not the other way around!

But to be fair, getting out of high school with fluency and 4 B2-C1 language certificates is pretty useful, the reason I didn't pick that school is that it teaches jack shit in sciences.

Out of those options, I'd say russian

Mandarin
Arabic
Vietnamese

I’m usually choosing from what I hear/see everyday whenever I’m outside of my house

I feel like the languages I want to learn would be of use since I’m surrounded by it every time I’m out

Rather than learning say Japanese/russian sure they’re interesting languages but I wouldn’t really have much use for it since I’m not surrounded by those languages that are spoken in my area

Water but it’s best to learn a language when everybody else speaks it

Also maybe I can bargain with people better if I ever wanted to for whatever reason if I spoke fluently in their languages

The languages I learn are Estonian and Võro but if I had to choose a new one I would go for Tatar, Kazakh or Yakut.

That's true, but I have so low motivation to do anything nowdays :feelscry:

A reasonable attitude if any, what languages exist within your vicinity?

I don't understand this, to be honest. I don't really understand how people hold most interests or any cares at all. I intuitively feel like everyone should give up and be rotting like me.

Learn Spanish so you can talk with me in my language.

Just joking, learn standard spanish Spanish, it's the easiest.
Fair deal, do you have a copy of the alphabet with the phonetic sounds or phonics cards?

I can teach you a bit so you can type but not the pronunciation.

If you can, send it to me in private, so that I can take time to deliberate over it.

First five are useless imo
I already speak Spanish and French
And between the last 3 options I'd rather learn russian
Haha, of all of them, why Russian? Assuming your pragmatic.

So far, I’ve heard/seen:

American Sign Language
Mandarin
Spanish (Mexican dialect)
Arabic
Vietnamese
Hindi

But if I were to rank in them terms of how useful they’d be, it’d be more like this:

Spanish (Mexican dialect)
Vietnamese
Mandarin
American Sign Language
Arabic
Hindi

I’d want to learn Hindi, Sanskrit, and Kannada

Spanish

It’s second biggest native language

Mandarin is based too, #1 most spoken native language
Mandarin is so complicated though. You have to memorize thousands of characters before you can even read sentences.

Yea it’s not feasible for the world to learn. We just have to stick with English
