The modern society, lacking a collective goal as the result of social media atomization and collectivism being lost on every front, is causing a big problem for us.

A common goal would allow a society to bond together, provide a low barrier of entry to gather people together, and be more positive about working for something that is greater than yourself.

In communist countries, the atmosphere goal was ambitious and positive. "We will surpass the west!" Blahblahblah

The maoist mass movement, while it ended an disaster, allowed youth to gather together for a common cause.

It doesn't even have to be political. Even something like a christian fundamentalist movement can tie people together.

In the modern era of airplanes and internet, the idea of an "enemy" is disappearing. There is no need to "surpass the west" while your foids whore for the west, moreover, the society/nation isn't ever worth fighting for at all.

The antidote for this problem is a mass mobilization club that has a low (or no) barrier of entry. A Nazi club fits this very well. You're (insert race here)? You're in! There's no need to learn anything, no need of stupid identities. As they say, your skin is your uniform.

I think thats why something like a zombie apocalypse is something people would welcome since everyone suddenly has a common goal to survive/no technology so you socialise and stuff even though it would be a somewhat depressing experience

What happens when the goal is met?

New goals perhaps. A society needs a goal or external enemy or at least something else to unify everyone. If there are no more goals or unifying factors, then today's world is as close as it gets; atomization, individualism, lack of purpose, nillnihism etc etc

Goals were society wide copes, but even here saint hamudi’s words reign true. Every cope comes to an end
