What’s worse is that her mother was my aunt’s best friend, so every birthday party my cousins would have meant she would be there too all the way back to when I was 10-11 years old. Not just birthday parties either, sometimes even Christmas. Obviously this led to me falling in love with her because she was a girl my age and she was like family but she wasn’t blood related so it was okay for me to have feelings for her. Her rejection destroyed me, and even after she rejected me I had to watch as she would laugh and talk in the same room as my own flesh and blood, making the experience 10 times more personal and painful. I obsessed over her for 7 years, she robbed me of my life.
