Which is better for ascension? Do you think jaw surgery is better/worth the extra cost? Anyone planning on buying either or gotten either? And is the meme that if u dont get jaw surgery ur face will keep melting, true?

genioplasty seems better tbh.

It's a lot cheaper/more common but I've heard jaw surgery gives better results, and is better long term. i spent Wednesday talking with someone who thought genio is pointless as ur face will keep melting/get worse with no jaw surgery. Scared me a lot

oh shit I didn't know that

Fuck man. They're both really important, especially if you're a babyface as your name implies.

If you're in it for the long haul, get the jaw surgery and then genio (like suggested?) but if you just want quick results genio is really good.

both of them jfl if youre not getting at least 10 surgeries

What would happen if I have recession, and just get the jaw surgery? Would my chin be fixed at least? Jaw is very expensive and I probably cant afford it AND genio

Get bsso and lefort to fix your bite and then get a sliding genioplasty for your chin

I only have 10k. I also dont want a super manly chin from genio.

This grill's issue is similar to mine and probbaly what I need. Unlikely I could fford with 10k tho, unless insurance helped a bit.

Depends on if your teeth are aligned or not. If you have a good bite already and good jaw alignment, then solely genio.

If you have an overbite then you need a BSSO. If you have a retruded lower jaw and upper jaw, you can do a mandibulomaxillary advancement, but it's hard to convince many surgeons to do that sort of thing if you have good jaw alignment to begin with.

You could also consider implants like these if your bite is good:

I think my bite is kind of bad but on like the cusp of surgery. I have 'class II maslolclussion'. if they say i dont need it ill just get genio i guess

Class II is an overbite. How far is your overbite? Ie. how many mm?

If you're truly class II to any significant extent there is no substitute for a BSSO. You can also get chin/jaw implants if needed after too, but having your jaws well aligned is aesthetic gold.

I dont think many mms. My bite isnt that bad, yet my face looks like that grills I posted above. I have a lot of recession. Maybe both top and bototm need to be advanced, I dunno.

She has an open bite with excessive vertical maxilla (gummy smile). Those are very different issues.

You will need some cephalometric xrays done and the opinion of at least 1-3 surgeons. If you want to PM me your pictures, I won't repost them but I can give you some personalized advice on what exactly I would do in your position. If you do, make sure to send one from the front and one from the side, ideally using a forward facing camera (ie. not selfie cam) shooting into a bathroom mirror.

Using a forward facing cam and a bathroom mirror decreases lens distortion which makes the true proportions easier to judge.
