I used to fap 1-3 times a day until very recently but I'm trying to reduce my faps so here's some advice that might help:
- You can't do it while keeping your other habits. You have to change many things in your life style. I'm taking vitamins, drinking more water, doing a tiny bit of exercise, reduced my screen time, I meditate twice a day, fixed my sleep schedule, etc.
- You have to stop the stimulants. I used to look at hot foids on Instagram all day and that got me horny so I had to fap. I uninstalled Instagram and when I'm on the internet I try not to click on stuff I know are going to be stimulating. Don't fool yourself. Don't tempt yourself. Don't think about sexy stuff. The meditation is very important about this part, because it helps your mind focus and helps you get rid of intrusive thoughts more easily. From all the bullshit the media and self help people say meditation is one thing I think actually works for me.
- If you're used to fapping daily don't try not fapping at all. Try to make it every other day first. Fap every other day with no guilt. You'll see that it's more enjoyable too, and it gives you a feeling of release for longer. Then after a week or two make it 2days no fap 1day fap. And so on. It's important to not feel guilt when you're fapping on schedule, enjoy it as much as you can.
Having said all that, there's really no guarantee. I've tried and failed a few times before.
The important thing is don't get too psyched about it. Don't beat yourself up about it. Just be chill with it. If you broke the streak, well so be it. You'll try again. It's just fap, it's not like heroin and stuff. So if you fapped when you shouldn't have just try to enjoy it as much as possible, instead of beating yourself up about it and feeling guilty. Enjoying it makes you feel sexually fulfilled while feeling guilty degrades you mentally and makes you want more.
