I don't like to call them evil because just like predators kill prey due to instinct, normies treat us like garbage because of instinct as well. I don't really like the idea that their behavior is just biological or deterministic. I think they do have free will and a conscience, like we do, but choose to act the way they act regardless. Even if it's their natural behavior, and even if they don't know any better, I'd still define it as evil.

It's hard to say that there's anything wrong with your idealism. Becoming a jaded, cynical, recluse like me is nothing to be proud of.

I don't like George Carlin, but he as a really good quote that says: "Inside every cynical person, there is a disappointed idealist".
It's definitely true, and it applies to me as well. If you're a good person, you project good intentions on to everyone you meet because you assume they're like you, but it turns out that's not the case. I hope you do meet genuinely good people though.
