I just got my first Pfizer shot recently, and I only had a sore arm for about two days.
Some people get tested positive even after getting it:

But CDC research shows it is safe & effective probably: "COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective. COVID-19 vaccines were evaluated in tens of thousands of participants in clinical trials. The vaccines met the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) rigorous scientific standards for safety, effectiveness, and manufacturing quality needed to support emergency use authorization (EUA). "
Personally, I think it's safe but its main problem is that it probably won't be long-term effective. The Pfizer CEO recently said you might need a booster after being vaccinated, like how you would get a flu shot.
I'd say just get the vaccine. You'll be fine, but may need a booster. Though I probably think we'll get to the point where boosters are optional. COVID will probably just become the seasonal flu, appearing from time to time and giving vaccinated people simple sickness.
