Serious Is it normal to lose to lower ranked players in 1v1 fighting games?

I play a PS4 fighting game and I’m a high-ranked player, but I sometimes lose to lower-ranked players. Yet, I can beat players who are the same rank or higher. I’m not sure what’s happening. Am I improving or getting worse?

I hate them .They make me feel like I’m a loser for losing to noob looking players.

I’m not great at shooter games. Aiming from far away is such a pain, and I can’t hit anything. I really need players close by to play my game.And no genre of game does close combat better than fighting game.In shooter games you can’t get killed without the enemy being even near you .
