I started Elden Ring 2 days ago because I heard it was good, and I havent found much enjoyment in it. The first non hostile guy I met call me an incel (didnt need a reminder), then tell me to go to a castle.
Then the weird thing is, he doesnt actually tell me where that castle is, even as a general direction. Is this what counts as realism nowadays ? Someone sending you to do a task without giving any information ?
Anyway after that I didnt want to look up where is that online, so I decided to explore open world™, and engage convos with folks. And beside from 1 merchant, and 1 hot ghost girl (I think she wants me to finger her) everyone attacked to me on sight.
What is the point of it being an open world, if every being in it is gonna attack me as if I am in a dungeon ? I picked some flowers on the road, but I didnt get an urge to do alchemy / crafting like in Skyrim, because every location I went felt stressful. Also I decided to swim and died horribly but that was lowkey funny.
Now my question is, is this game supposed to be 1 hour of gameplay + 30 minute of looking at wiki kinda thing ? Is it possible to understand/advance quests without getting info online ?
