I've lived in LA most of my life. It is true that the food cope here is fucking amazing, only New York can come close with Houston trailing. It's expensive though, most meals will cost you at least 12 bucks, unless you go to one of the many taco trucks and stands you see around the city. I think LA is much better to live in than it is to visit, you'll get fucked hard on hotel and transportation costs. The public transport is better than what you might think, but it still sucks ass and you'll have to rent a car or uber around
The prospect of getting mogged everywhere you look is overstated. Extremely attractive Chads and Stacies are mostly limited to West LA (Culver City, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, La Brea) and the hipster parts of Silver Lake and Echo Park. The one thing I don't think any movie or TV show has ever portrayed accurately is how Latino and wothe LA are. LA is as Latino as Atlanta is Black. And there are more Asians than Black people here.
