It, just like many words in the past decade such as, "queen", and "slay", has been overused and thus lost its meaning, being reduced to nothing more than a petty insult to avoid engaging someone.

Its also used as a means to redirect the conversation to an entirely different topic rather than the actual topic, again, to avoid engaging the argument.
