I remember in the third grade, we had this new Korean student and the thing about him was, this dude would never speak. He'd only ever smile or nod/shake his head if he wanted something. I recall once in an activity we had to whisper something into the others ear and he whispered to which he spoke perfectly fine english but he never spoke anymore than that.
