As someone who has been into combat sports almost an entire decade, I feel like I can help a lot of you out here and find some good instruction videos. I think boxing is a good way to start because even those of you who are too high inhib to go to gyms (or there simply isn't one around) can learn basic boxing techniques at home.
Obviously I'm doing this so that you can learn how to defend yourself in case you're attacked by bullies and/or if you simply want to train a sport, boxing exercises like shadowboxing, punching bag etc. are very good. This thread is not meant to encourage any violent aggressive behavior and so on. It's both for self defense and appreciation of the art of boxing, the sweet science.
All the incels here saying they don't know how to punch should watch this video.
This guy is a great boxing coach, and this video is like going to your very first boxing lesson with a coach who is actually very very good. I've been boxing for 6 years and the way this guy breaks down the most fundamental techniques is better than any of my coaches did.
It's THE BEST boxing video for beginners on YouTube.
I love how he put the emphasis on balance and footwork because this is the key when it comes to punching and fighting in general.
Like I said, you can learn how to throw basic straight punches (jab and cross) in your own room if you're too high inhib to go to a boxing gym or there simply isn't one around. Even if you train boxing in a gym, it's very good to watch the videos from this guy because he is very perfectionist and goes through little details that a lot of coaches miss/ignore or don't even know about them and just use their instinct.
