If you're (grand-)parents were from Turkey, Morocco, Korea, Vietnam, India, Mexico, etc. and you now live in US, Germany, Netherlands, France, etc.
...how close do you still feel to the country and the culture of your parents?

Do you speak the language?
Are you religious?
Do you eat food others consider to be weird/yuck/interesting/authentic?
Do you cope by imagining that the culture in this other country is much better etc?

1. I understand the language, but I can't speak it, so no.
2. No, but I used to.
3. Yes.
4. No.

I chose Not Really Close but I reality I don’t feel close at all....I can’t stand my own Colombian people.

Yes I speak the stupid language fluently

No im not religious (the vast majority of colombians are)

Yes sometimes I eat the food. I don’t consider it exotic, just overly greasy, calorie-rich and nasty.

No I don’t cope by imagining it’s better. I made peace with the fact that it’s one of the most pathetic cultures in the world.
