I was raised in a family where there was no TV, no smartphone, no computer. Now I realize I "missed" to acquire a lot of social skills relative to those tools that everyone use daily like a second part of themselves. I feel like I the neurotypical behavior has shifted because of the use of these technologies. Nowadays no human relations can last without the use of these electronical extensions of the body. As a result I feel alienated in a lot of social situations with other people who are talking to machines instead of humans around them.
For instance, recently I was at the bar with some colleagues, male and female. Foids were talking to each other, avoiding contact with men, while men were talking to basically everyone. Foids were watching their phone extremely oftenly, maybe once every minute, and I'm not making this up. I don't understand how people aren't able to enjoy the moment anymore. They seem to rely on these little machines to avoid interactions, to wait for distant hypothetic signals to avoid a more simple connection with their immediate surrounding.
I'm not even 30 and I feel like this world is a technological hell hole where basic human connection has become a surreal thing. How can you even build sane relationships in such a state of things ?
