My current route:
work -> subway : 20-30 min
subway -> junction station: 20-30min
junction station -> next junction station: 10min
junction -> final station : 40min
final station -> house: 15min

2 taxis and 3 trains.

Bring a laptop during your commute, and prop it up with your briefcase. Have a headphone too. Also, get good mobile internet. That way you can spend some time surfing while you commute.

What OP is doing would literally be unfeasible for me as the 4 taxi rides (2 each way) alone would be %100 of my daily wage. And this for an 8 hour shift.

Yeah taxis are cheap here. They are carpools with stations. It's like a 4-person bus.
