I completely agree. Telling unattractive men that their main issue is low confidence ignores the reality of appearance-based discrimination and bias. Confidence doesn’t erase how much society values looks. Saying “just be confident” can feel like gaslighting when someone has faced years of judgment based on how they look.

Ugly man who is confident is seen as a potential rapist

The comments still devolved into gaslighting as expected on Reddit, Just develop a positive mindset bro :soy:

Brutal, there is a recent study where they looked at how people perceive faces with scars or palsies. They found that people tend to see those with facial anomalies as less warm, less competent, and more dehumanized. It didn’t matter whether the anomaly was a scar or palsy, the bias was still there. Essentially, they found that society tends to stereotype people with these differences negatively, which is kind of like a reverse halo effect… where one flaw can make people judge someone unfairly overall.

They will forget about that post pretty quick anyway

We all know looks matter, and it's condescending to say they don't matter.
Since when does reddit understand reality?

So... what did women in the post answer him about that final question?

Foids will read this and then proceed to call us delusional crybabies

The way redditors write gives me a blood pressure spike.

Also, isn't it funny how whenever a thread like this is written, suddenly every roastie has dated an ugly man before? Jfl. Femoids and normies larping for leh updoots

As usual, every single comment is generic blue pill yapp with extra soy.
