Venting I’m gonna be getting disability payments via social security, soon. And I don’t really like that.

Not in a “contributing to society” kind of way, but in a “I’m a failure at life” kind of way.
I’ve been a NEET since last November after getting fired from my wage slave job, and now with the pandemic happening, I have not looked for work as a way to protect my middle aged parents from potentially getting COVID-19. And while the payments will help me build by savings back up and keep me afloat until the pandemic ends, I still feel ashamed to be getting payments. It just makes me feel like a failure at life when there’s others my age already making six figures, while I’m a loser who needs NEETbux. I could go back to school but COVID and my anxiety make that an issue. Fuck.

Mine are in there 50s both with health issues so I understand. Do what needs to be done and fuck what anyone thinks about it.
Understand you’re misgivings about social security to. Was on Medicaid for a while hated it just going and asking for help sucked.

I’m also on Medicaid. I feel embarrassed about that. I should consider going back to school but I had such a bad time when I was there that I don’t know if I’ll succeed.

Almost quit my cdl before I even started, had a hell of a time learning the manual transmission but stuck with it and eventually it clicked

Drove a medical taxi for a while use to piss me off to no end listening to them explain how they game the system.
