I dropped after the giant centipede fight where it declined soon after. it literally became a generic shonen. completely different from the webcomic.

I personally always felt like the concept for the show was only ever suited for a silly comedy because you can't do a lot of serious stuff with Saitama since he always easily wins. Because of that, they expand the story into a bunch of random characters no one remembers and whenever there's a big threat it's boring to watch them stall for time until Saitama inevitably shows up and wins the fight.
I haven't read the manga because since I disliked the stalling in the anime it'd only be worse there. I prefer Mob Psycho tbqhnglfam. All I ask for is for Tatsumaki to be plapped

Orochi wasn't even in the webcomic but he was actually slid into the manga, which was done right. A little after the MA arc is when the maggots started to appear.
