If you roped and survived but in a vegetative state, are you dead?

a big fear for some with partial hangings is that if they're found within 30 minutes, they could survive it, it's very likely they'd be a vegetable. my question is, is this death? your conscious experience, the one suffering, is gone. would you consider that death?

Yes I’d be nothing but a shell

It’s so over if that happens, perfect reason to never try that

so there really isn't a way you could technically mess up if you've done the hanging correctly. you're gone whether someone finds you or not

no because you're still gonna be semi conscious and are probably aware that your attempt failed, like in a coma for example. so the only way you can be truly 'gone' is if your brain and heart fully stops working

(if you were to) you would consider one that has a lower fail + vegetable rate? that's the confusing part, why does it matter to you, that your corpse still gets fed with a feeding tube or whatever.

(if you were to kill yourself), would you be upset if you could know you ended up a mindless vegetable and not dead? I don't logically see a difference. only thing is feeling grossed out that your vessel isn't rotting with your mind.

I agree, I would be fine if I ended up "surviving" as an unconscious vegetable. My bigger concern would be suffering more minor brain damage/injuries that restrict you substantially without causing an unconscious state.

My family would kill me for good so yes

You'd be dead at that point, which is why we inkwells must take care of ourselves mentally and physically.

That's why you blow your brains out with a shotgun to ensure no survival :feelsthink:
