If anything video game creativity and gameplay has stagnated compared to what it used to be. But normies have no issue playing basically the same games over and over. In fact they'd rather remakes copy current trends instead of actually recreating the original games unique features.
I love old games. I use different Emulators to play them on my phone. All the old Classics like, Doom, Duke Nukem 3D, Shadow Warrior, Blood ect. I'm not really that interested in modern Games, and i can't effort a gaming PC anyway right now.
Remember when shooters used to have level design outside of walking down hallways and following the objectives list? A lost art.
