I feel you.
I have recently bought Alien Isolation for the XBOX One on disc, just so I could share it with co-workers who own an XBOX one as well and have never experienced the game.
They absolutely should.
Yes, you play as a good, but at least this character isn't a feminist girl boss, like it is usually the case.
This character is likable, imo.
I have also bought the GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition for my XBOX One, but only because it was damn cheap and from the used market anyway.
Don't get me wrong, they are still shitty remasters, but they have been patched so many times that so far they are very playable and enjoyable, even on an XBOX one.
Mine has an SSD, so that might have helped.
Games run buttery smooth, barely any stutters.
So far I have not encountered any bugs, which is nice.
I know about the AI upscaled textures where the AI has messed up the spelling, but so far I haven't noticed any.
Tried all three games and they're alright, considering what I've paid for them. I have paid no more than 20€ incl. shipping costs.
The classic lighting makes a noticable difference.
Modern controls and aim are only supported in GTA III and GTA Vice City though.
For some reason GTA San Andreas seems to have the original controller setup.
It isn't super bad, but it could have been better.
What I don't like about all of the games is that many of the roads look so plastic and too clean.
The character models are a mixed bag. The shadows etc. are really nice and don't stick out like a sore thumb.
Overall it is not well rounded, but rounded enough for me to enjoy it.
As for Alien Isolation, that one I have bought used as well.
I only buy used because Microsoft is literal cancer. I only like the way they've built their last and current gen consoles. LoL
