Yes, something like that I think you worded it better. Although a lot of his victories is just dumb luck as even he and his followers are surprised sometimes. Which incels wish they had such dumb luck.
It was decent, although I didn't like it as much as the latter half of season 2. Season 3 was just kind of confusing, I suppose. My only complaint with the anime thus far is that they tend foreshadow a lot of plot points and then just never expand on them ever again. Although, they might end up showing up later—but it'll have been quite a while and makes me question why they even bothered foreshadowing all the way back when they did.

I like the first and second seasons because all the outcomes were pre-planned, and he shows his strategic brilliance especially in that fight with Shalltear. In the later seasons, he wins mostly by deus ex machina, often for comedic effect. You can see his competence degrading. I mean, I understand that the longer the show goes on, the more grandiose and convoluted the game plan becomes, even surpassing the capabilities of a mere office worker. But I bet the manga author didn’t really care about realism; rather, he was too lazy to come up with a better, more coherent strategic plan. But I don’t care about how unrealistic it would be for an office worker to know how to run a country, I want him to be a goddamn good general. I mean, we’re watching for strategical power play and domination, no?
