Discussion I ran into a high school classmate and laughed in his face

Ran into him while grocery shopping in my city, haven't seen him since years. He mogs me in every aspect and used to post on socials about his "successful" life in another state college. He fell for what most cucked teachers tell their students: "study away from here."

The problem with this is that some students graduating fresh out of high school are not financially stable enough to hold down studying in another city. The teachers know this but encourage the suffering, if they drop out who cares?

Back to the point, he introduced himself because I did not recognize him nor did I care, asking me what are you doing, where do you work etc. I dodged his questions and straight up laughed, told him, "What happened to your college?" His chippy tune disappeared and he looked down with sadness. It's obvious what had happened. He had fallen for the teacher's advice and returned unsuccessful.

I walked away after a quick chat but felt a disturbing feeling of glee. I was proud of his downfall?
