I mean, NDEs sound convincing, some of them do. But if they are proof that an afterlife exists, then what happens? Can you meet deceased people? Can you somehow see what’s going on on earth or in the universe? Are you just a floating orb of consciousness? Etc

I don't think it's possible

Even this life there are so many variables even starting from genetic recombination that I don't think I'd be the same person in the afterlife

However I do fear being born as a herbivore-ish animal in the grasslands etc. I would just be living meat for the lion to kill, and the grass is all the same anyway I'd get fed up eating it, not like there are many different cuisines, especially if I'm an incel deer I'll probably live a very miserable existence

well i cant speak for ndes but from my personal life it does seem every human is inhabited by a seperate soul but at the same time interconnected with everyone, i think post death just like how there is diff stages here there is diff realms there. id lean towards a bit of the floating orb thing but thats more of jus as us as a whole, we are individual as we are interconnected.
