I know that there’s no evidence of an afterlife of any kind at all, as much as everyone wishes there was one.

Is there any good reason to believe that there might be an afterlife? I have heard of certain NDE cases like that of Pam Reynolds and also Shanti Devi’s reincarnation case.

Personally, I don’t believe in the existence of an omnipotent god at all. If there was one, he would just make the existence of an afterlife known to us once and for all.

Now that I plan to commit suicide, all I can do is to hope that there exists an afterlife of some kind.

I believe in Christian afterlife but i have no proof for it. What baffles me about these NDE is, that theyre all totally different stories, theres no any consistency. If it were real, they would get similar experience.

Exactly.
Personally, I think that some kind of afterlife exists, but it’s a different experience for everyone, maybe.

No empirical evidence, moreover what god? Christian or hindu? And that's just two, what about all of them? What about all different denominations and traditions?....if god existed it would be self evident and natural to understand as all religions must conform to the natural world, else they wouldn't make sense, as everything happening naturally is god's will, the natural order only shows pure amorality, no purpose and nothing like god would make unless uncaring....and not talking about the fact more and more scientific findings show that many of all beliefs are superstitious ones, monsters like werewolfs, vampires and demons were born of the demonization of disfigured people, there's many genetic disorders causing extreme hair amounts to grow, eyes to be red and with white hair and skin to an extreme and also deficits on iron so needing something to get it from....just like blood, and of course finally disorders growing deformed "horns" pr else just deformed formations on the head of body in that way......all superstitious beliefs are born of ignorance, lack of scientific knowledge and ways to catalogue empirical evidence plus the natural evil nature of living beings in the way demons or monsters were persecuted poor people with genetic disorders knowing nothing of their own nature or problems......
mythology shows jow people loved killing them.
In essence i don't believe so, it's most likely the brain just imagining things as a last resort to understand on your last breath like those that manage to not die and recount such things......the only positive things is...where does consciousness derives from if matter is the same for everything? Can then artificial beings if evolving intelligence enough and replicate our ways of being effectively be conscious and more so where does it go when we die?
That's my only thought honestly.

And even then it's mostly like i said, apart from where consciousness comes and will go, the natural world is always the main subject, as if a religion was completely unrealistic and didn't conform to reality it would be untrue and nobody would follow it enough or at all....so at the end the world shows only amorality and immorality on disproportionate amounts with nothing but cruelty and hatred, if god existed it would hate us all and if not i don't believe there's any reincarnation.

hopefully not

i heard a good theory talking about how if there's no basis for predetermined knowledge then we can turn to energy as the only universal constant, a thing that can't be created or destroyed, so it might not matter that we'll die anyway, we're basically immortal

What does this theory say about entropy and second law of thermodynamics though?

NDEs are different from "imagining things" cause they often profoundly alter one's attitude to life and to death. Though it can be explained e.g. by saying physiological changes during the process of dying alters the brain and causes these shifts in attitude

why would it matter? even if the earth we're destroyed you can't tell me life would cease to exist forever

no, the idea of an after life is a tool used by the elite to keep people from revolting.

no, but hopefully I get isekai'd soon

well i dont mean you'll literally reincarnate im saying we aren't actually real to begin with, because we're not creatures that operate on reason we're creatures that operate on self preservation, we're fundamentally incapable of identifying objective reality. so in that essence you can say life will go on anyway.

Christian morals and values are pretty much gone from the west today.

Yep, even from churches. There are countless videos on youtube by christians which dabble with and excuse sinful behaviour.

No. And if you kill yourself you will still would not be able to escape reality because there's nothing outside of it :D

And the non-existence of an afterlife has nothing to do with God's existence.

Paranormal stories is the closest you can get from it.

You seem to have not considered the worst case scenario

If you commit suicide and you are born again how are you gonna be sure you'll be born with the same brain?

You don't even know if you'll be born as a human, you might live as an animal in captivity for all that matters

Well I mean, I literally just asked, is there any good reason to suggest the possibility of there even being an afterlife?
