I just worked out a big reason I play pretty much exclusively Roblox now

OK so here are my options.

AAA and AA - the only ones that don't seem packed with politics and current day stuff are the E-rated games. but that limits me to very few games.

Indie games don't tend to have ratings really, as far as I'm aware. At least not as specific as just "E for Everyone" or whatever. So... politics and current day all the time.

Roblox has indie games AND a proper ratings system so... ta-da! Not woke! ^_^

Interestingly... I think some websites out there actually check games for... usually wokeness, but I guess there's no reason not to check them for politics in general.

Maybe that is an alternative for me. A good screening website.

The Roblox games I play are basically politics-free and feel light to play, which is why I like them really.

But this could be a good alternative strat!

Erm... typically no as it feels unnecessary. I don't feel like it adds much.

That being said, back before the politics in gaming thing I used to play games with violence in them fairly often just because... many games do have violence in them!

For example my top 3 FPS games are Quake 2, FEAR 2 and Killzone 2.

OMG I got so into the original Killzone on my PS2. (It was a gift from my brother, I hadn't really done shooters before, I was a racing car games only guy.)

I realized I was walking through town checking the balconies on buildings for shooters, and planning what cars, rubbish bins, fountains etc I would take cover behind if shooting started. That's when I knew I had to get a grip...

what I meant is that politics being an integral part of human life, it has always found its way into media. It's not a particularly new phenomenon that politics be put into videogames. I can't really understand whether you think every game has politics in it, or you just talk about woke politics.

I don't particularly want any politics in my games, for the most part. I don't see how the ones on my list would be improved by including politics in them?


Edit -- Is it possible that the reasons the left in particular focus on this so much is... because a) their politics is so unusual and b) if they don't push it, people tend to naturally revert back to "traditional" values. Because they're just human nature.

lol, I never played much of the other Killzones. I'm not really sure how they compare. From what you're saying though it sounds similar to 2!

Honestly I don't know because I don't play modern games, the ones on your list wouldn't be improved but how do you feel about political games like metal gear solid?

also, I think it's mostly because most directors/writers are leftist, I'm not sure about human nature and such. The left and the right wing are of the same bird

Isn't MGS kind of light, fictional politics though, like RA2?

I'm not entirely sure that the left and right are of the same bird. I feel like the right are just normal people and the left are radical communists who have convinced people that they belong.
