I am not even talking specifically about ones that have to do with looks, dating, opinions etc, but any topic. So many fuckwits out there, they are sooo ignorant and objectively wrong.

A comment was saying

“if you live and work in Canada you’ll always have double to tripple the money at the end of the month compared to working and living in the US, because taxes are lower in Canada, US prices 2-3x higher and salaries 5% higher in the US”

LMAO

  • “Everyone in Scandinavia speaks perfect English because they’re taught it as a first language.”
No, English is a second language, just very well taught. Their native tongues are still Danish, Swedish, etc.

  • “Europe has free healthcare, so no one pays for anything.”
Sounds nice, but in reality most systems include copays, premiums, or taxes. And private care exists too.

  • “If you earn $500k in New York and $10K in Mexico City, you’re richer in Mexico City.”
Depends wildly on cost of living and what kind of life you want….plus people migrate for more than cost: opportunity, safety, education.

  • “In Switzerland, you don’t need to lock your doors or worry about crime.”
Crime is lower, yes, but theft still happens, and people do lock their doors.

  • “The police in Europe don’t carry guns.”
Some do, some don’t. In Germany every single officer carries a handgun. Actually that applies to most European countries!

  • “Retirement is always better abroad than in the US, it’s cheap and relaxing.”
Unlikely, stop hating your country so much, Americans. People forget visa limits, healthcare quality, infrastructural, language…

  • “All German trains are super punctual.”
Nope, they suck. The reputation is outdated, Deutsche Bahn delays of 30 minutes are common or they don’t arrive at all.

  • “You can’t get fired in Europe because of all the job protections.”
Wrong again. It’s harder, yes, but you can absolutely be fired sometimes easier than in the USA.

And the newspaper website won’t even allow my respectful and true comments!

Social media is meant to be misinformation central, people are ignorant because they read things online and think they are true and never do the research themselves. Most normies are like parrots, repeating the same shit again and again, because their friends told them too and they never fact check.

Yes exactly that. Also they just have some thought or bias and then just believe something. Did you read the examples I gave? Insane!!

It's not that insane IMO, as an Americancel I used to believe many of these things. I didn't really believe the first one but I have seen that Scandanavian countries have decent rate of English speakers, especially compared to Asian countries. I thought the second is mostly true, there may be some examples of copays and premiums as you said, but healthcare in Europe is a lot better than US where there is a deductible and insurance companies don't cover the first thousands of dollars of medical care at all in a year, usually between 2-10k USD. Third one is true but I agree that living standards vary wildly. Not Locking your doors and committing no crime seems like an exaggeration, police not carrying guns is also an exaggeration but some don't as you said. Fifth one is crazy, it really depends on how much you have saved for retirement. Never heard the sixth one, but that also seems like an exaggeration. Seventh one, I thought was mostly true, but there's a probationary period right and it's also harder to get hired in Europe than the US.

yes but I know Europe very well :) these aren't opinions of mine-but can be double checked. Sometimes the best sources are in German as there's no need for an English article on it

yes but many older and middle-aged people especially outside of cities, do not speak it. I can speak more for the Germanic countries, but it also applies to Scandinavia as the new-media consumption has improved the English of the younger generations.

That's not really what I have a problem with, I'm just saying at the end of the day there are hidden costs here, these deducibles exist here too especially for big surgeries and if you don't have private insurance.
Doctors need to get paid just like in the US, and in Germany and Switzerland, health-insurance companies also want to make a profit. All I'm saying is I know Europe well and these comparisons between systems are often in the news here, it's not some great paradise here.

I said some countries. In Germany and many other countries, every officer has a 9mm side-arm they always have on them.

Not seems, I know it all too well.

Yes and yes, but firing is easy as well (mostly through layoffs due to "financial problems"), and the employer if they don't want you anymore, can come up with some logical-sounding excuse
