I had expectations for Digimon Beatbreak but I'm dropping it

Ded srs I feel like I got hyped for nothing. Digimon is a very nostalgic series for me since it's one of the first animu I ever watched (or maybe the first) and in 2021 I rewatched seasons 1 to 4 and I think they still hold up very well.

So with Beatbreak I thought it would be really cool but it's been 6 episodes so far and I think I'm done with it. The show is very kiddy but in a bad way (there's a comic relief gekko Digimon which is kinda like Jar Jar Binks) and is more slice of life than adventure or battling. The pacing is kinda slow and from what I've seen so far it just follows the problem/monster of the day format instead of a more consistent story. It doesn't have the charm of the original Digimon series either.

So I feel sad to say this but I think I'll stop watching on Sundays.

Looked interesting tbh, I prefer Digimon over pokemon. I just think overall Digimon just has more mature themes.

Yeah even when I was a kid I found the Pokemon anime kinda bad because all the episodes followed the same formula:
1) Ash and friends find a trainer with a new Pokemon that has a problem
2) They try so solve the problem
3) Team Rocket steals Pikachu or the new Pokemon
4) Finally the good guys win and Ash continues his journey to be the best trainer

Digimon at least there were different story arcs and it was way less episodic.
