I loved how you had no reaction over the fact that hundreds of people were competing for only 3 slots of one of the worst jobs you could possibly have. My father told me when he was a teen he could just walk up to the store, ask for a job, and they would immediately hire him and say he starts the next day or whatever. You probably already realized it.

They're often either unemployed virtually forever and might rope or they are miserable IT workers who stay virgins unless they get a miracle in their 40's and marry a single mother who will cuck them often. Even if you do get a job they will treat you like garbage because you are a social loser. I was almost fired on my 2nd day by fat femoid because I didn't know what to do. Yeah, it's hard to even get minimum wage jobs these days. Any time the store I work at puts up a "now hiring" sign, we get like 20 applications a day. We'll keep the sign up for a few days, accumulate 50-100 applications then hire like 2-3 people. So that's an acceptance rate of like 2-6 percent...for a dead end, minimum wage job in the ghetto.

Things were not this bad back in the mid 2000s. One of the first jobs I had, I got just by walking into the store, filling out a really basic application and getting an interview on the spot. I didn't even realize I was getting an actual INTERVIEW at the time until I got the call the next day telling me what time to show up for work. I was wearing some baggy jeans and a T shirt that went damn near down to my knees (it was the mid 2000s) while I was getting "interviewed" and they never even asked for my resume.

The financial crisis of 2008 seems to be when things changed a lot and getting even a minimum wage job became exponentially more difficult.

These days you can expect to fill out a long application, submit your resume, get an interview a week later, and then a week after that go to a second interview with a higher level manager...and you still probably won't get hired. And that's IF you make it to the second interview...or even the first for that matter.

As much as my job sucks, i'm "lucky" to have a job and to be able to pay the bills.

I can't imagine how difficult it must be for young guys with little to no work experience and no degree to be applying for jobs these days. Good luck, lower class males of gen Z! You're gonna need it.

Even as a graduate, you need to send thousands/hundreds of applications to get a single position.

For me, it has been somehitng like this.

Out of 5 applications you write, maybe one of the 5 actually concern a job you are qualified for.

5 relevant aplications -> 1 interview

30 interviews -> 1 job

5*5*30= 750

Interviews are the worst, in particular if it is an HR company. They interview people even though they are not really interested in them. It takes very little time for them and too much time for you.

I don't even put any time in tailoring my applications nowadays. I just send in the standard I have on my hard drive for a particular position. None of the jobs I got had anything to do with my cover letters and everything to do with the people at the company liking me personally.

It's still easier than finding a girlfriend.
