Discussion I feel like my dad only has two modes: disappointed and bossy

Does anyone else have a parent like this?

So either he's all disappointed and he detaches, or he is engaged with my life but is bossy and negative.

Both are unpleasant but I prefer the former so I might try to just maintain that one.

Maybe so but having a masculine and empathetic father would have greatly helped me
