it was supposed to be another sect of judaism. I dont think jesus had the intentions of starting a brand new religion based on his teachings. correct me if im wrong

Judaism's whole shtick is the wait for the Messiah. early Christians believed Jesus was that messiah and the Jews didn't. This naturally means it's incompatible with judaism
