Literally I can't count how many people pointed out this thing.
When I drink from plastic bottles I used to suck all the air and I shrink the bottle.
I'm not even joking; I don't know it its autism or what.
This is actually high-IQ, just made a thread about it and saw this under related threads.
Air exposure is how you lose fizz so you keep carbonation longer with less air in bottle.
edit: on second thought I think I misread OP, you're like literally swallowing air? wtf
you should be squeezing the bottle to deform/flatten is to reduce it's volume as the volume of soda decreases, but that air should just be going out into the room not your belly
I used to swallow air as a teen because you can force yourself to burp that way and it was fun for a bit before it got boring/painful
You don't exactly need a bottle to do it though, you can swallow air any time.
It's hard to explain exactly how to do it, Im' too tired (3h sleep) to put it into the most concise of terms but I'll try...
Basically collect a bunch of air in your mouth (cheeks and lips should be bulging) basically by fully inhaling and then trying to exhale through your mouth to make it expand.
You can't exhale through your nose for some reason when you do that, I tried, it's weird, not sure I can explain the physics...
But anyway then you should do a swallowing motion and force your cheeks/mouth inward and this will force air into your stomach and it will expand.
If I ever wanted to be a competetive eater then I'd probably do that in addition to drinking water to expand it.
Probably not a wise idea if you have a weight problem though because then it takes more to make you feel full?
OTOH maybe I should swallow air and not burp and it would discourage me to eat? Dunno. Burping creates room for more food and makes you feel less full, in theory?
