I can't bother playing online competitive games anymore

It's not that I'm bad at online games. When I play semi frequently I tend to do well. The thing is, I have no interest in investing so many hours into a multiplayer game. Victories don't give me as much satisfaction as they used to. It seems meaningless and pointless. I'd rather just play a single player game where I can enjoy it in bursts without having to constantly grind to keep my skills sharp.

agreed. I've gotten pretty good at some multiplayer games but as soon as I take a little break I lose my skill.

It's just too much of an investment with little reward. You're only good if you play frequently, and the more you play the less you'll enjoy them due to your prefrontal cortex numbing to the sensations.

I play cs2 and its a time sink. I can spend an evening on a weekend playing and it distracts my brain from how alone i am, which is something really valuable. Of course eventually and whenever i reach a certain level in my game it gets boring and frustrating. When you start caring too much with your performance and shit its gonna get bad.

I just don't bother at all, The Huge sink in time to preform well just doesn't seem worth it. I'd honestly rather be mediocre at a variety of games rather than being good at one and hating it. Also I've never heard people more miserable then when I have lisened to people play ranked games.
