There clearly exist some men who do have standards who won't put up with just anyone with a vagina.

Dating apps have been around since 1994, how old can we say the gamer grrl phenomenon has been around? Were foids actually trying to infiltrate male culture for attention even in the days of Pac-Man arcade games?
I gotta tell you as an oldcel who grew up playing NES/SNES/N64 that girls showing up to play was something I never experienced once, either at my house or in the house of male friends I would sometimes game with.
Feels like this is something which might've really picked up steam in the Wii/Xbox/PS3 days of late.

You're falling into the same trap as @FrogSprocket : talking about 'men' like an indivisible group. There is a subset of a significant size (perhaps the majority) who simp-for-whiffs. I think the subset who does crazier shit (murder/suicide) the "can't live" crowd is probably a minority though.
You simply need to compare the suicide rate to the rate of men not getting laid: the suiciders/suicidees are outnumbered by guys who are coping instead of roping.
Think about Japan. When women generally don't want men because they got other things to do whereas men will watch anime, buy anime body pillows, buy worn foid panties, buy rubber replicas of vagina of their favorite voice actresses and porn stars
